Hintergründe auf der Podiumsveranstaltung am 20. März

Am 15. Dezember griffen circa 40 Neonazis eine antirassistische Demonstration in Stockholm mit Stöcken, Messern und Flaschen an. Joel und andere Antifaschist*innen halfen erfolgreich bei der Verteidigung gegen diesen Angriff. Wenige Tage später wurde Joel unter dem absurden Vorwurf des versuchten Mords verhaftet. Während Joel nun seit Monaten im Knast sitzt, griffen Neonazis am 8. März in Malmö erneut eine Gruppe von Aktivist*innen an, die sich zuvor an einer feministischen Demo anlässlich des internationalen Frauentags beteiligt hatten. Drei Personen wurde dabei durch Messerstiche schwer verletzt. Einer der Angegriffenen ist nach zwei Notoperationen wieder außer Lebensgefahr.

Am 24. Januar demonstrierten 8.000 Antifaschist*innen gegen den Wiener Akademikerball. Von den Rechtspopulist*innen der FPÖ, über Burschenschaftler bis hin zu Delegationen von Front National, Vlams Belang und Pro Deutschland trifft sich zu diesem Anlass die extreme Rechte  zum strammrechten Walzer. In Folge der Gegenproteste wurde auch Josef aus Jena festgenommen. An ihm soll offenbar ein Exempel statuiert werden, da er seitdem in Wien in Untersuchungshaft sitzt. Flankiert wird dies durch eine Hetzkampagne in den Medien.
 
Für uns ist jedoch glasklar: Antifaschistischer Widerstand darf nicht nur auf symbolischen Lippenbekenntnissen beruhen, sondern muss (auch) auf der Straße praktisch werden. Und unsere Solidarität endet nicht an den Grenzen. Wir werden daher am 19. März vor den Botschaften von Schweden und Östereich unsere Solidarität mit Joel und Josef ausdrücken und ihre sofortige Freilassung fordern. Wir verstehen diese Kundgebungen als Beitrag zur Mobilisierung für die bundesweite Demonstration "Unsere Solidarität gegen ihre Repression" am 22. März in Berlin. So wichtig es ist, ein starkes Zeichen auf der Straße zu setzen, so wichtig ist es auch, unsere Genoss*innen in den Knästen dabei nicht zu vergessen.

Freedom for Joel and Josef! Manifestations in front of the Austrian and Swedish embassies

On the 15th of December, about 40 Neonazis attacked an antifaschist demonstration in Stockholm using sticks, knives, and bottles. Joel, along with other antifaschists, could successfully help to defend themselves against the attack. Several days later Joel was, though it is apparently absolutely absurd, accused of murder and arrested. While Joel is still in jail, Neonazis attacked another group of activists on the 8th of March in Malmö. They had previously participated in a demonstration  for the international womens day. Three people were injured severely by the nazis with knives. One of the victims life was in danger, he had two emergency operations and is in a stable condition now, but is still in a coma.

On the 24th of January in Vienna, 8000 antifaschists demonstrated against the “Wiener Akademikerball” (the Vienna Academics Ball). The entire right wing from the Austrian FPÖ, a delegation from French Front National, the German “Pro Deutschland” and the traditionally right wing fraternities, came to waltz. As a consequence of the protests against the event, Josef from Jena was arrested. It seems he is being used to set an example: He is being kept in custody by the police during the investigation against him. Alongside, the media is running a smear campaign.
 
But we know and must point out time and time again: Antifascist resistance is not only made up of symbolic acts. It also has a practical component that is carried out on the streets. Our solidarity does not end at the national borders. As a small sign, we will show our solidarity with Josef and Joel on the 19. of March in front of the Austrian and Swedish embassies and demand their immediate release. We understand our manifestation as a part of the upcoming antirepression demonstration on March 22nd in Berlin. As important as it is to show our solidarity on the streets, we will not forget our comrades that are stuck in jail.

Den 15e december, cirka 30 nynazister attackerar en antirasistisk demostration i Stockholm med tillhyggen, knivar och glasflaskor. Joel och andra antifacister kunde tack och lov försvara sig emot attacken. Flera dagar efteråt så griper man Joel och misstänker honom för mordförsök. Medans Joel sitter gripen så attackerar en annan grupp nynazister en grupp aktivister den 8e mars i Malmö. De hade precis deltagit i en feministisk demonstration på internationella kvinnodagen. Tre personer blev lindrigt skadade varav en med livshotande skador och fick nödopereras två gånger innan hans läge kunde bli stabilare men ligger fortförande i koma.

Den 24e januari i Wien, 8000 antifacister demonstrerade emot “Wiener Akademikerball” (the Vienna Academics Ball) hela högern från Austrian FPÖ, delegating ifrån franska Front National, tyska "Pro Deutscland" och andra högergrupper.  Konsekvensen utav en protest emot detta så blev Jose från Jena arresterad. Det verkar som att detta gjordes för att statuera ett exempel. Han hålls fortförande i polisens förvar i väntan på utredning medans media smutskastar honom.

Men vi vet och vi måste påpeka gång på gång: Antifascism består inte bara utav symboliska akter, den har också en praktisk komponent som utförs på gatorna. Vår solidaritet slutar inte vid nationella gränser, som en liten skylt, vi kommer att visa vår solidaritet med Joel och Josef den 19 mars framför den svenska och österrikiska ambassaden och kräva deras omedelbara frigivning. Våran manifestation är en del utav den kommande antirepressions demostration den 22 mars i Berlin. Lika viktigt som det är at visa vår solidaritet på gatorna kommer vi inte glömma våra kamrater som sitter kvar i fängelse.
